Starting next season anyone with a good contract, let's say Gagne, Penner and Scuds in the cae of the Kings will either have to take a huge pay cut or they are gone, that is just to get the Kings below the cap. It's going to take a few years to balance out, probably to the end of this CBA, but what you will end up with is a couple of players on the team making bank and the rest playing for 50% of what they get now.
In the case of the Kings, they are already in that kind of position, but take a look at Boston or Minnesota and they are in for a world of hurt. Then you have trading, how many teams are going to want to take on a $3-4m contract ?
