Most teams are losing money. Mediocre players are getting free agent contracts like they are all-stars. Revenues go up because ticket prices keep getting raised to pay for the ridiculous salaries. It's not the fault of the players but it is what it is and the system is clearly broken.

The system is still "broken"? I thought it was Shangra-La after 2005? I know what you are saying but why does it always seem the owners look to the players to fix their own stupidity?

But, yeah, I agree. The players probably need to back down a bit and get this thing to 50/50 and all the while work with the immediate hit on salaries using some sort of payment plan. There are a ton of things here that can be negotiated. So the Midget and the Donald should sit their fat-asses down and get to work.

Unless I'm reading this wrong (and I may be) it appears that 18 of the 30 teams lost money.

At least it is over. This was heavy on my mind for the last 33 days.

Don't get racist about this, it is only a labor disagreement.

Screw the players bunch of whiny babies. I dont get how losing one year of their salary is better option then getting a 50/50 split. Owner are no saints her but I hope the players lose a season and come back taking an even lower offer from the NHL

Depends. If there is a full season, yes.

Bettman said that there are no new talks scheduled,but they do have each others phone #'s. As someone mentioned,it's going to be a long time till we have a hockey season.

Finally we can all go back to our daily lives and not worry about if they are going to play or not play this season. At least they did not drag this into December. I appreciate that.

I am thankful that I got to see the Kings win the cup at home in front of some great fans. I am not upset about not seeing them raise the banner because I saw them raise the cup.
