50-50 is the end goal of both proposals. They are not that far off and they could have talked some more today. But no.. Bettman is trying to scare the players and the fans.

Both sides are completely delusional about the popularity of the game in the US. The NHL will not be making anywhere near $3.3 billion for a very long time.

How can he scare the fans? Not having a season is not going to scare anybody. We are not 9 year olds. He just doesn't agree with the proposal. The fans have nothing to do with any decision. Both groups took the fans out of this a while ago.

One thing...the owners put out their proposal for us to see and scrutinize. I don't see the players' proposals in the media as of yet.

Exactly. The NHL has already lost out of 100s of millions of dollars by cancelling the pre/reg season games they have. People aren't just going to flood back.

Idea would have any traction. For the first time, though, I see a deal. We won't have 82 games, but something decent.

They came back in droves after a season-long lockout. They'll come back after a short lockout this time, too.

Um, did you see what happened the last time?

I might not, but once the dust settles, regardless of the outcome and duration, there will be throngs of fans that welcome the game back with open arms.
