    [QUOTE=USCKingsFan31;2595773]Well what?

    If you don't care about the banner being raised, that's fine. I think to many of us it is the final step in this incredible journey; there was the playoffs, then actually winning it in Game 6, the Cup being awarded, the Championship parade and finally the raising of the championship banner.

    I don't really see why this would be something that only a child would enjoy. No need to project your cynicism on everyone else.[/QUOTE

    the LA Kings journey or your journey?

    Ah, is this the ol' "we" vs. "they" thing again? Fantastic.

    I'd actually say both apply in this case, though. If your post was meant to sarcastically point out that I didn't have anything to do with the Kings winning the Cup, good work! Top notch posting!

    But the "journey" I was referring to wasn't the one that the Kings endured on the ice, but the journey that each of us fans has taken following along for the ride. You know, years and years of missing the playoffs and disappointment? Years and years of going to games with family and friends and watching every game we couldn't be at on TV and dissecting games and prospects and everything in between here on LGK? An entire lifetime of supporting this team all paying off in that sweet moment that Dustin Brown lifted the Cup?

    Again, if that's where it ends for you, fine. But the banner raising is one of those time-honored traditions across all of the major sports actually that is a pretty ****ing epic moment.

    ^Bunch of ****ing nine-year old idiots.

    This is from Adrian Dater (@Adater) who is a writer for the Avalanche I believe.... Either way this makes me a sad panda

    In my latest chats with a few plugged-in players, they say...
    That they are completely reinvigorated for a long fight against Bettman and his core of owners whom they view as his "puppet masters".
    Players are more and more resigned to the prospect of not playing at all this year. They will not be making any new proposals to Bettman for a good long time. They certainly will not accept anything lower than 50% this year, and if Bettman lowers his last best offer because it was contingent on an 82-game schedule, then for sure we won't play hockey at all this season.
    Bettman is truly a toxic figure right now.

    I agree. "They" (the players) won the Cup, but in terms of the "journey," it was at least as much so for the fans as for the players.

    If the miss a whole season they are effectively taking 0%.
