true (time-value of money and all that).
And 700K in savings goes a long way in rural Canada. But it's not being set for life.

It also seems like the owners thought they would cash in by having more teams in the league. They gambled and were VERY wrong. Again, both sides have things wrong with them but it seems like you are unwilling to see ANY fault with the owners. I can see idiocy on BOTH sides.
I'm surprised the owners give anything extra to the players.
When my employees want more, I fire them.
If you want somebody to give you more, start your own business.
Perhaps the problem is not the amount but location. The league should grow even more, 32 teams, adding a few more teams in Canada and maybe even moving the Coyotes to Seattle. Canadian tv new contract coming up in 2015 will have to pay a lot more if teams in Quebec and Ontario show up.
I have never said owners are guilt free, but as owners they can make all the mistakes they want and can do whatever they fit necessary to fix them, because they can. Mario Lemieux right now is an owner and I can guarantee you he sees the league and the game in a whole different way than in 94-95.
In 04-05 players cried and moaned, lost a whole season and ended up doing what the owners wanted. Who lost, we did, the fans and as time has shown they did rather well anyways. Here we are again, they will end up doing what the owners want, they will be fine at the end and we will be the victims here, again.
Handzus Crisco, I suggested the same thing after the PA's counters were rejected. Had the PA just negotiated off of the NHL's offer, they could have asked for that, but nooooo.Quote:
