I've been catching up on my NCAA girls field hockey.

Dont look for a presser TUE after CBA meetings. NHL wants to go the silent route w/a statement, at best, like it did this wkend .the league feels the less said publicly, the better off. also, talks expected to go thru the week.

Negotiations are finally getting serious. If this week ends with recriminations and finger-pointing, the season is in real trouble.

Agree. It started getting serious finally when word got out last week that the owners were OK with the "make whole" provisions coming out of their share. This is the real do or die week... there is some optimism out there finally. Needs to happen now or its not happening.

I hope this is true, however, I just see another PR move to get the upper hand before the season is canceled. I hope I am wrong.

I understand your cynicism, but S. Fehr and Daly talked until 1 AM Sunday. Hard to believe they did that just for PR.

The NHL move last time seemed worthwhile... they may be bargaining with themselves again.
