I am beginning to feel cautiously optimistic.

Nor for the players missing paychecks. Now the lower third, monetarily, is beginning to feel it.

All of those issues weren't blatantly foreseeable? NBC and NHL sponsers are upset? Shocking. Could have been avoided entirely.

Issues being foreseen has nothing to do with it. It is not an issue of logic, it is purely psychological. It's one thing to foresee something a few months down the road and another thing to have to deal with it NOW. Imagining the pain you'll feel at a future date and experiencing the pain are not the same thing, not by a long shot.

P.S. Russo, the Dallas beat writer, said things did not end well yesterday. He's pretty trustworthy, so that makes me worried.

No sense being concerned about rumors.

    There are positive rumors too.

I'm not getting sucked in by any of them.

Talking 3 days in a row instead of media rhetoric is a positive sign. If things didn't end up well yesterday then go back today and start over again. I mean, do these clowns really have ANYTHING else better to do?

I just don't believe that. You really think that these cold and calculated millionaires and billionaires on the owners side are "feeling the pain"? That this wasn't their gameplan all along? That any of these consequences snuck up on them and weren't weighed against the consequences of trying to negotiate in good faith and get a lesser deal done in time to start the season? Alright then, to each their own.

And @incarceratedbob, who has also proven to be "trustworthy" as rumor mongers go, reports: **BREAKING NHL NEWS**Source: Final touches being put on #NHL lockout -- 2 Players #NHLPA tells #IBN deal could be wrapped up before Sunday!

So yeah, don't worry too much about rumors.
