This specific movie is Happy Gilmore, but that is Jaws from the Bond movies.

When snipers are sought in NHL transactions, they are not supposed to be aiming at their own feet with a shotgun.

Um... that won't happen because of the lawsuit agreement of 2006. The NHL does not own the rights to the Stanley Cup. The owners of the Cup have agreed to award it to the NHL champions "IF" there is an NHL champion that year... otherwise it will be awarded to a deserving non-NHL team. Multiple lawsuits ensued in the 2004-2005 lost season and it was settled in court on Feb. 7 2006 that should another NHL season be lost for some reason, the Cup would be awarded to another worthy contender. In 2005 they had thought of giving it to the best ladies team but the gals now have the Clarkson Cup, so I'm not sure who it will go to. Maybe the best AHL team? Either way the Kings would not retain Lord Stanley's prize if this season is scratched per the 2006 court decision.

    3 weeks - $1.7 B gap.
2 shortened / cancelled meetings the last 2 scheduled days.
Owners didn't budge last time, they'll take the money they don't have to pay out to the players and stadium workers, and apply it to other expenses this time. Again.

Sounds like a recipe for success to me.

The players capitulated to almost everything last time; I don't think they'll do so again. Our boy Leiweke was practically hyperventilating once the players caved in. The dip**** owners are demanding even more this time around. I read an interview with Fehr and he said that the most frequent question he got from the travelling meetings with players was "why are we at this point again, after submitting to the owners' demands last time?"

We've got projects around the house that we can reallocate the FF refund money toward. The Gin Blossoms are playing at Monte de Oro winery in Temecula; we may just do a wine tasting and concert day down there instead.

    50/50 sounds fair, doesn't it?
That Temecula trip sounds cool, and a lot closer/cheaper than FF.
