A lockout should have never been part of their bargaining strategy. They shoulder a fair amount of blame in my book.
Too bad not permanently damaging the league isn't part of their jobs.

The last time I checked, the league was doing much much better than before the last lockout. So...the negative effect is only temporary. I assure you the league knows very well that every % that goes their way increases the level of competition in the NHL and thus increases the interest from new fans. The only major impact the lockout has is on the players' wallets and on the wallets of the owners who make money by running the NHL team. Believe me, the league has it all figured out. That's also a reason why the NHLPA is foolish.

Daly, Steve Fehr and Los Angeles Kings forward Kevin Westgarth got together for an informal lunch meeting on Saturday in New York, and the sides made plans Sunday morning to meet again at the NHL's Manhattan office.

I'll just post my take on it here.

    The lockout sucks.

Yet another article on how the talks have come to a halt...AGAIN.
No progress made in new round of NHL labor talks

This right here makes it obvious who the problems in these "discussions"...

So whenever those two get involved, things stop. Keep those two AWAY and let the other two, who have been talking, get things done. This ego-a-thon is ridiculous.

exactly, the players are not doing it again. So even if its a 50-50 split, the players are not going to give money back this time.

Their loss. They will lose one year's income and probably not get much more before the next season starts. And they will be required to bend again when the new CBA expires.

Some people just can't figure out what means when someone's a river and someone's a swimmer.
