If it were truly to become a significant issue I'm sure they would take notice. But we all know the fans will return.

You're a short term thinker. Yes, fans not going to games will affect players salaries eventually. Duh.
Awww...the owners have to pay the players. Boo ******ing who. The owners are the clowns that keep offering these contracts, right? That keep needing to be saved from themselves time and again, right?
Sorry, I just can't feel sorry for these dolts. All of them. Players too...any one of them that went into a contract discussion in recent years knew going in that their contracts might get cut due to a new CBA. Now they whine the NHL is asking for cuts (Wahhh...). That would be the reason many were asking for stupid up-front bonuses like Weber et al.
jom
No I'm not, the players and nhlpa are...and that's the problem. If they truly took the long view they'd recognize that the one and only thing they need to include in the CBA is a loophoole to alllow exceptions.
If owners could collude like players and agents those contracts wouldn't exist. It's not a level playing field...Quote:

Right...so while you're sitting on the sidelines with apathy, what do you think is the "right" deal?Quote:
