Even if the season started by Xmas, it just wouldn't be the same. It has lost its appeal. What sucks is that this happens just after the Kings win the cup. Who knew? I guess everyone. I seem to be losing interest each and every day. Everyone here seems to be getting along fine without it, we maybe a little mad but we will all start to simmer as the end of the year comes to a close. I can understand the people that are directly effected by this lockout might not feel the same way but as a fan we can move forward with no problem. I believe both these groups just screwed themselves royally this time. They have gambled with the wrong people... the fans.

Yeah, considering how much last year's cup run meant to me and how much I love hockey and the Kings, I'm surprised at my own apathy as well. I find myself wishing they'd just cancel the season already so I can stop paying attention to these pitiful "negotiations". A rushed half-season just doesn't appeal to me. Sure, I'd watch, and maybe even pick right back up where I left off. But you are right about not caring... these greedy bastards have managed to turn one of my absolute favorite things in the world into something that I can do without and don't miss on a day-to-day basis, mainly because they've spotlighted just how little they care about us and the game. If they don't care, why should I?

No, the players need to realize (as most players do once they retire and become owners, managers, and NHL execs) that the TEAMS are the league. Players (and owners) come and go. As a wise LGKer once said...I don't root for players, I root for the laundry.

At this point I find myself wishing they would just kill this season off. Of course, I'll be back when hockey resumes, but I've lost hope for this season being saved.

Fan's apathy is what the league and player's union should be most concerned with. The casual fan was lost long ago and now, based on many quotes I've read on TSN, even rabid Canadian fans don't seem to care much.

It's a lot easier to sit by as Cup champions. Afterglow.

Everything is fine as long as the nfl is playing. Once February hits I'll really miss hockey.
