Agree about limiting the numbers. The problem with this is that Bettman and the hawkish ones will be sure that no "softie" owner gets into the room. You could say this about the other side too.

I agree about the season being over, even if there is a partial season...it just won't be the same. The excitement and the momentum is looooong gone for me, and I consider myself a diehard fan. I feel like if we were to see the banner being raised this season, I wouldn't be nearly as stoked as I would have been had it gone up on time.

That those involved view this as something to be "won" or "lost" is why a deal hasn't gotten done.

Some new owners showing up that haven't before. Lets hope the players come from different ends of the pay-scale spectrum. If Daly and S.Fehr are there too I'm not too optimistic anything new will come out of it. D.Fehr has been dragging this towards decertification for awhile now so maybe if most of the conversing happens between the players and owners some better understanding will come out of it. There is always hope.

The owners that will take part in the meeting are Jeremy Jacobs of the Boston Bruins, Ronald Burkle of the Pittsburgh Penguins, Mark Chipman of the Winnipeg Jets, Jeffery Vinik of the Tampa Bay Lightning, Murray Edwards of the Calgary Flames and Larry Tanenbaum of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

My drop dead date was Dec. 1. I seriously doubt that they will be able to make a deal and have a season at this point.
