Oh, well, this will give me time to go back to my basket weaving, which I neglected way too long.

The NHLPA has informed the NHL that players are willing to play and continue to negotiate if an agreement isn’t reached by Sept. 15th.

We all know the NHL isn't going to go for that, though.

Well it is a great pr move on NHLPA's part, at least this way the fans will blame the NHL for the lockout.

Of course the downside for the NHL is every time Bettman goes to an arena he will get booed.....Oh.....

That's all it is. Both sides know damn well that there HAS to be a hard deadline in place, or no new agreement will ever come.

I'm actually getting really annoyed with the NHLPA. I think it is pretty clear that the NHL is being the "bad guy" here. They seem more interested in painting a picture of the NHL as the villain ("We'll keep playing!" and that stupid YouTube video) than they do of actually getting this thing sorted out.

Well, if that happens, I'll start wearing a paper bag over my head and change my name to Neil.

They've always said that. And everyone remembers the World Series that was canceled when players went on strike just before the regular season ended. That's the time period the players have all the power so it ain't gonna happen again. No CBA, no games, and that's the way it should be. We just need both sides to compromise so we can watch us some hockey!

The PA is being sneaky with that "we'll play under the old CBA" crap. Everyone knows they would strike right before the playoffs. That's when the owners actually make their money. Players don't get paid during the playoffs. They'd have already been paid their years salary. It's completely dishonest and transparent if you ask me.
