I wish the Germans hadn't bombed Pearl Harbor, but at least it got a reaction from John Belushi who spent the rest of his career bombed just like this lockout will do to me.

Fehr's track record includes a number of work stoppages including the cancellation of a World Series, so that should tell us that he's not likely to back down quickly. Which is a shame, because with revenues up like they are, seems to me that there is a big enough pie for everyone to be happy. yet both sides are going to the mattresses when they should be working together to get this solved. Pox on both their houses...
Considering how badly the players got shafted last time, I'm not surprised at all they would hire someone like Fehr this time around. They players gave up so much last time and would surely get railed again this time without Fehr. There's not much the players can accomplish without a substantial work stoppage.

Exactly. They players gave the owners so much last lockout. The owners are the only one's to blame for this. They found loopholes to get past the very thing they wanted, as in circumventing the salary cap. The owners were given a lot of opportunities to fix the league after the last lockout and seemed to have made things worse. What was the point of the previous lockout?

100% valid. I think all of us are angry/upset at yet another impending work stoppage. And I totally understand others being less understanding of both sides then I am.

But you hit the nail on the head when you talk about priorities. If this labor dispute makes you re-assess how you spend your money and you decide to spend less of it on the NHL because spending it in other places will make you happier, that's a great discovery. By all means, you SHOULD do what's best for you and your family and what makes you guys happiest with your money.

My point is, presumably, the reason you have spent money on the NHL in the past is because you get enjoyment out of the products you are buying. This is illustrated by the fact that despite your boycott on other stuff, you aren't boycotting NHL 13; because it would seem that the enjoyment you receive from that game outweighs your anger with the league.

I tend to think that most grudges are childish. If you want to buy less merchandise because this dispute has made you realize these guys are in it for the money and you don't really get much enjoyment out of wearing team gear, that makes sense to me. But you love the Kings and I'm guessing that you love going to games with your family, too. Live games, to many of us, are experiences that we enjoy that create lasting memories with our friends and families. The idea of cheating myself out of the enjoyment I get from going to a game because I'm holding a grudge against a bunch of businessmen for arguing over business matters just seems trivial to me.

But like I said, in your case you seem to be willing to make exceptions (NHL13), so at least you aren't one of these blind-boycott people. The type of people that are going to quit watching a game that they love over this make no sense to me, but to each his/her own.

I live 1 hour from both the Bank North Garden in Boston (Bruins) and the Verizon Wireless Ctr in Manchester NH (Monarchs). It cost $280 for 2 tickets to the last B's game I went to. It costs me $180 for TEN tickets to Monarchs games, and those are in the front row. I can still take my gf and kid to Hockey games and not go broke.

Default The Official CBA Negotiations Thread

My thoughts go out to Valentine ( Usher near the restrooms by the smoking patio at the staples center). He's the real victim in all of this. Him and all the good people who keep things running smoothly at all the hockey arenas in the NHL. But not the Red Coats. They could go suck one!

    P.S Suck one some more!

When you put franchises in southern states where they live for Nascar and Football, why be surprised when they're losing money? Expecting other teams players and owners to contribute to keeping money losing teams afloat, you end up with messes like this. A certain amount of expansion was smart, while other parts, such as location was stupid. Once again....Thank you Mr. Bettman, the basketball wizard.
