They remain the only sport dumb enough to be locked out for an entire season because they saw no problem with Bobby Holik making $9m/year. Now they're on to lockout ver. 2.0. What morons.

Which is why they are the biggest embarrassment in all of professional sports. They are completely ignorant of the fact that hockey isn't popular in the United States.

I hope the union holds out for the whole season.

yeah, I see what you mean.

Bettman , Daly and the owners just do not get it. It's the players that we like watch bring us to the games. We also like to buy all our favorite player or team products. All the owners do is keep ticket and parking prices going up. What the owners need to do is fire Bettman and Daly now

You're right, the OWNERS chose to overpay. Why should they be given a mulligan on the bad business decisions they made?

I, personally, don't give a damn which owners outside of LA make or lose money. It has ZERO effect on me and my enjoyment of the game, but when those owners choose to lockout the players that I willingly pay to watch, then it affects me.

If you want to sign someone to improve your team, you have to offer similar deals as other teams. Like if you are the Wild and are trying to sign Suter and Philly is offering a 10+ year deal with a signing bonus, Nashville is offering 10+ years with a signing bonus, and Det is as well, you have to offer a same type of contract. He isn't going to sign in Minnesota for 6 years and $45 mil with no signing bonus when he can get a 10+ year deal with a signing bonus elsewhere.

the owners not making money is obviously having an affect on your enjoyment of the game.

Well you should care (at least a little bit). The point is the system is flawed. If alot of the owners are losing money or aren't making enough to justify operating costs they will obviously try to fix the issues and if they are not able to do that, there wouldn't even be a league for the Kings to be a part of.
