    Getting to see some other offer details, I'm not nearly as optimistic as I was ten minutes ago.

    Free Agency would be at 28 and 8 years of service.

    Entry Level Contracts would be 4 years in Length.

    Revenue sharing would be at or near 200 million dollars.

    The contract offer still does not address the fundamental issues with the league. The weak sisters will still be the weak sisters and we'll be right back here at the end of the CBA.

    This is good news. I dislike being a debbie-downer, but I'll just throw these items out there anyway.

    1) Compressed schedule equals more injuries;
    2) Compressed schedule could result in sloppier / less intense playoffs;
    3) Compressed schedule means we're going to see a lot more of team's third and fourth lines all season.

    But to hell with all that. BRING ON THE GAMES!!!

    Exactly what I'm thinking. If the players don't accept this deal, they lose all the goodwill. But I wouldn't be shocked if the NHL put in some other player concessions and chose to omit that from what they released to the media.

    Another interesting tidbit from NHL offer... Players' Salaries for those NHLers playing in the AHL would be part of the cap.
    Sweet.

    Default Lock Out Talk

    I think the players would be willing to accept a lower percentage of revenue and some contract term concessions if the owners agreed to close the loopholes in what they are allowed to deduct from the HRR number. But they won't, the players will look like the bad guys if they don't accept this deal so they will, and we'll be right back in this situation in 6 years with the rich owners getting richer and the teams like Phoenix crying about how a 50/50 split is too much for them to turn a profit. Oh well, at least we will have 6 more years of hockey before they finally disband the NHL!

    Compressed schedule measures out to one extra game every five weeks, and could be less if they extend the playoffs out by a week.

    @GlobeKPD: Fehr: ''Would like to believe after we are done [with review]....that it's an excellent starting point and there's a deal to be made.''
