    Default Opening Night Tickets?

So now that the madness is over... are those opening night tickets for the start of the season good, or what?

If this is a new schedule, then what happens to the tickets that were purchased?

What if you want to buy them... scalpers the only option?

    Curious...

wait until the schedule comes out.

when you look at stubhub for a game you get this
Because of the potential NHL lockout, the game dates, opposing teams, and players in the game may change.
What happens if there is a change?
If the event date or opposing team changes, we will cancel your order and give you a full refund (including fees). If you buy tickets and the players change, but not the date or opposing team, the tickets are yours to use.
Brokers might sell to you in the hopes that they can backfill the orders, but i wouldn't order with any confidence.

If you order from a broker before the schedule is announced and tickets go on sale i would ask if they are guaranteeing that you will get opening day tickets.

Kinda what I figured, but seeing how so many had tickets already...

Well, the kids only need one kidney, right?

Yup....got tix on the old schedule but now it, in theory, will be a brand spanking new schedule making all other tix null and void. We just have to pray for an announcement and go to the box office....at least those of us not SSH.

who did you buy your tickets from ? By now they should have given you a refund.Be carefull on Craigslist because a lot of people were getting ripped off.EBay and stubhub are ok.Barrys Tickets has a disclaimer on their site that they are selling tickets for Opening Day but the date could change.

What do you mean by "those opening night tickets"? If you're talking about tickets for the game that was supposed to be played on October 12, 2012, no, any ticket you might have had for that game will not be good for whatever turns out to be the home opener.

But were any real tickets ever actually sold or distributed? I'm not an STH but am a member of a group, and the guy in our group who has the season ticket account never received tickets, so as far as I know, the team never distributed tickets to STHs. I don't remember if individual game tickets were ever put on sale.

If you bought a ticket through Stubhub for a game that didn't get played, the purchase price should have been fully refunded. If you bought a ticket through some other third party, I sure as heck hope you got some sort of refund guarantee.

You'd have to call a team ticket rep to find out for sure. My assumption is that, once the schedule is finalized, the team will immediately start printing and shipping tickets to STHs (including half-season and mini-plan holders) by Fedex or some other overnight method and will make some sort of announcement for a public on-sale. I also assume that very few tickets for the home opener will be made available to the general public.

I'm pretty sure they showed up on the TicketMaster STH site, so they could have been printed. But yeah, any previous tickets are most definitely invalid now.

    Default Opening Night Tickets?

My friend is a STHer. He was offered a chance to purchase extra tickets to the opener. I bought those tickets off him and currently have physical tickets in my hands. I also have an email from him that he forwarded from his rep stating that the tickets are valid for whenever the game is played as long as I don't request a refund. Of I leave my money with them the tickets are valid.

Now whether or not they reissue a paper ticket.....
