That's all well and good, but if the NHL, the NHLPA, USA Hockey, Hockey Canada and the IIHF can't come to agreement, the IHHF will prohibit NHL players from participating. They are the organization that governs international hockey and the Olympic hockey tournament.

NBC wants it to happen, thus it will happen.

Problem is it was mostly Russia who ruined the concept of having amateur's participate in the Olympics. They kept sending pros in to compete. What we see now are the results of that. Pro players going to Olympics risking injury to their perspective teams.
Ask Espo abt experiences over in Russia in the past. I have no opinion pro or con abt NHL going over there except Olympics did use to be a lot more fun(see Herb Brooks)

If it was in my power, I'd bench every player of mine that went to the olympics or the worlds. I pay them, if they are going to get injured, they'll get injured for me. Just my feeling. Anze will get hurt again I fear. And I agree with :taz:

My mistake and I stand corrected. Any country that is able to stand up to that ******* Stalin gets my approval.

So now I have more reason to cheer Slovenia, well, until they play the USA. ;)
