Honestly, I think Martinez will do every bit the job Suban can do, just with less flash.
I would not trade any of our good young forwards for Suban.

Hockey's original bad boy. The "Cowboy" Howie Young
Sign him and immediately flip him to the Bruins.
I'm all for giving him an offer sheet. If the Habs don't match, play him to get his stock up, then trade for assets/picks if you don't need him. If Montreal does match, they get screwed. It's a can't lose situation.
Mitchell isn't going to be here much longer years wise and Scuderi may try elsewhere also when his contract is up. PK is a long term guy and will be a good defenseman. Having said that, no way I would give up Toffoli. I still want to see Kopitar with a highly skilled winger and this kid could be the guy. Overall it will cost the Kings too much. 5 mil though isn't that terrible especially since even more cap space will open up once Penner and Gagne are gone next season.
To be honest, I am pretty happy with our current D. It will only get better when Mitchie and Greener get back. I would hold pat.
Yuuuuuup! game 6, goal number 2.
I don't think we need Subban or the contract he's asking for.
But for the sake of the hypothetical, I could definitely see Montreal asking for Toffoli. I wouldn't give him up though; he's the only true goal scorer the Kings have in Manchester.
And if you're trading for Subban, you'd probably see Voynov going their way as part of a package. Another offensive-minded, right handed D-man - just with better sense on defense. But I wouldn't do that either.
In fact, this hypothetical is stupid. Let's not trade for him at all. Let's get a young, physical d-man who thinks defense first.
