Thread: PHOTOSHOP Experts! Help for a Dave Taylor interview I conducted

I recently had the pleasure to meet and interview Dave Taylor at his home recently for an upcoming congratulations he will be honoring a person/team I can't mention quite yet (after this runs I'll come clean I promise!)

I had to run and gun to get the interview and didn't have a large external monitor to catch any problems in the frame, using only the small lcd screen of my prosumer video camera. Long story short, there is a heck of alot of "light" and "reflector" umbrella shining back off a glass frame behind where Dave sits that I hope to remove in post. Unfortunately, I have Zero experience in photoshop and seeing all the amazing edits/creations here on LGK, I figured someone might be able to lend a hand.

I have 3 static shots total, and I'm hoping to get at least 2 of them cleaned up if possible.

Dave Taylor and I greatly appreciate your help King fans! As a bonus, i'll post "Dave Taylor's" side of the story after receiving a cross-check to the face from Luc Robitaillie years ago! Great video indeed, i promise.

So attached is a sample of the Media i'm working with so you can get an idea of what's needed to be fixed. If anyone does want to take this on, I can send you a higer quality PNG with slightly large file size to preserve quality. Remember, the only thing I needed to fix is the Hockey Jersey on the left side of the screen. Good luck and thanks

You need a compositor (which I am) not a photoshop artist. Do you have any stills or good frames to comp into the shots? Without light hits?

No unfortunatley, I don't have any good shots where the light reflecting wasn't a problem.

As for compositing, I figured since the camera never moved once I should be able to only repair just the jersey in the static background (which i provide a still from the shot) crop or mask out the rest of the shot and that static "corrected" jersey would be a layer over the regular video with Dave talking and no one would be the wiser.

just an update, the Dave video will be do within the next day or so because a "record" is about to be set. Let me know if anyone can contribute to fix 1 part of a photo. Thanks

I work on a video-game trailer team (I do sound), along with a compositor. Let me see if there is anything he can do today (it's 3am on friday morning). Can't guarantee anything at all, but I'll keep you updated.

Basically I'll see if he can fix the best he can, the two photos.

Please PM me. I'll be in the office around 10am as I haven't even gone to bed tonight yet.
