Default Playing like the champs again.

What would you say the sign is (other than the obvious) that the Kings are back in destroy mode?

The one thing I saw the team do during their run was SWARM the man with the puck. If let's just say Henrik Sedin is carrying the puck up the wing, guys like Nolan, King, and Lewis SWARM the player, creating a turnover and a transistion into the offensive zone.

We have big bodies (Penner, King, Nolan) , and we have a little speed (Carter, Lewis).

Darryl made our gameplay a formula of sorts. And a big part of that formula was forechecking and swarming the puck carrier with two Kings,

I.E. Lewie didn't quit on Malholtra, and it turnrd into Stoll's goal.

Kings Killer Beez We On A SWARM!!!!!

The Kings started to put the puck in net. Kopitar healthier, Bernier playing well and Quick playing better than at the start of the season. Sutter yelling the s*** outta players.

Their checking game is getting back to what it was during the latter half of last season.

Remember the slogan from a few years back, "hard to play against"? Well, unlike back then, when they were simply hard to watch, they are really hard to play against. They take away time, take away space and physically punish the other teams, especially on the forecheck. Over the course of a game, it wears teams out both physically and mentally.

Our style reminds me of the old San Jose Sharks when Sutter used to coach them. They were just a pain to play against and now I love the way the Kings are playing.

Goes back to coaching. Sutter must be giving them hell, he really does get the most out of his players.

This wouldn't be LGK if someone didn't piss on the parade, so I submit to you the following.

The winning has the air clouded a bit. They've been pretty rough defensively, have had troubles passing out of their own end, and for some stretches couldnt get the puck in deep. The first half game in the two closest games of this winning streak the Kings flat out sucked.

They're still slowly coming around, but I wouldn't say "they're back" to how they played in the cup run. Hell, I'm not even sure it's possible to get back to that level ever again... It was insane.

Half of their defense from the Cup run is out and Quick has not been the player he was last season. That explains the tougher sledding in their own zone.
