Why do people always feel the need to say comments like this about a lot of good players. Look at Weber's team compared to the Kings. He can't do it himself. People seem to think this is Basketball where 1 or 2 players can win championships. So would you take Jones over Weber too? Cause Jones has a cup.

So to the topic, I would take Quick because the Kings have Doughty and the rest of their D is pretty darn good.
Cause I am allowed to think whatever I like whether you agree with me or not. By your logic Stanley Cup experience is meaningless then. By your logic all players are equal. They aren't. Some were born to be champions, others weren't. That's life. Some win, some lose. Quick is a winner.

Please just ignore this as the summer time waste that TSN does every year. All the hockey gurus are on vacay until September. Toronto Sports Network fans have nothing to do all summer.

"we're going to build from the net out" - Dean Lombardi

Well, it worked for him, so...

    Not so much.
I told you this three years ago, that we’re going to build this from the back out. Defensively, it’s the first step. We were fourth in the league in goals against, and we accomplished that.
He was referring to defense, and Dmen in particular.

And the goalie he could have been talking about has played all of 30 minutes of playoff hockey.

When Dean first got here, he stated at one of those state of the franchise meetings that he was starting from the net up. He stated specifically that he was going to draft and secure goalies. For further proof...look at MANY of his first draft pics. Goalies. Even when we had goalies...he drafted more.

So yeah. I'm going with what he said when he got here. Starting from the net...out. He may not have been referring to Quick at the time (since he wasn't even in the system yet), but the principal stands.

    Yes he was.

Quick was drafted in 2005 and Lombardi was hired in 2006.

Quick was in the system (2005 draft) before Lombardi was hired (2006)
He didn't exactly go overboard drafting goalies, and for sure hasn't recently (maybe he started to listen to the non-popular wisdom)

    2006 1 11 Jonathan Bernier
    2006 3 74 Jeff Zatkoff
    2007 5 124 Linden Rowat
    2009 4 95 Jean-Francois Berube
    2011 2 49 Christopher Gibson (never signed)
    2013 5 146 Patrik Bartosak
    2014 5 150 Alec Dillon

In that time, he's drafted 23 Dmen.

Yep. BUT by you logic, Nolan is worth more than Weber, Kesler, Sedins, Iginla, Spezza, etc. cause YOU did say so and so is worth more cause they won a cup. My point is... Dont use that lame ass excuse.. Weber if he was on the Kings he would have won a cup too..

Nolan with the Cup is worth more than Nolan without the Cup.
I think the opinion is all things being equal, you take the guy with experience.

Weber is awesome. And my opinion is weber would have cup (s) with the kings as well.

If I am starting a team though, and all things are equal....talent, grit, leadership, etc....i take the guy that has been there.
