    Default Quiet Staples....... In Memorium!

I saw some mention in the GDT. I think the moment of silence of David Courtney needs to stand on its own as its own thread. Prop's to the Kings and Bob Miller for the extended moment of silence for someone who really deserved it. Prop's to the 18,500 fans at Staples who understood who that moment of silence was for. Not a jackass in the building. I was moved how quiet that building was. I hope the Courtney family was there to see and hear what I saw and heard. That was incredibly respectful. Thanks to the Kings, Bob Miller, and all the fans in attendance.

The only negative was that great moment was done prior to the NBC feed (I think).

there was one short busser that yelled "we love you, David!" right near the end, but that was about it.

    Default Quiet Staples....... In Memorium!

I thought it was well done and like that they used his voice when they brought out the cup. It was weird being there and not hearing him announce not only the normal stuff, but also the incidental things that go on through out a game.

    Default Hearing Another Voice

Was very strange. Felt empty. I cried during the moment of silence.

I counted no fewer than 4 narcissistic idiots who decided that the moment of silence was their cue to whistle or offer up a "we love you David!".

There will always be AWs. Fact of life. But that was about as quiet and respectful a moment at a large event I've ever witnessed in person. And it made me sad. Sure will miss him.

Oh it was by far the quietest and most respectful sporting moment I've ever witnessed...

it was just a stirring testimony to the pervasive nature of self involved *******ry in the human species.

Let me repeat... to those 4 (or more) people who made so much as a peep.....

    You're terrible people.

    EXACTLY!!

I've never heard a sporting event that quiet, EVER. Just shows the true love we all had for David.

Those 3-5 people who yelled out stuff are D bags

Ah, they were just probably AM drunk. But I get what you guys are saying. If ever there was a need for introspection, it's the time when you decided to blurt out unnecessary nonsense during a moment of what should have been respectful silence.

Different note- I talked with the guy next to me just after the tribute about David and his work with the Angels. I distinctly remember being overly bummed when David was off doing Angels playoff duty instead of announcing the Kings. It really hit home today I won't ever hear him again. Pissed.
