Thread: Raise the banner even if they cancel the season ?

Do the kings really need to have a season to raise the banner ? Can they not just have a rally, similar to the one after the parade ? I would think if/when they cancel the season the Kings could do a real nice banner party and open Staples to all the fans for a few hours so everyone gets to be part of it and it keeps the fans connected.

Thoughts ?

that's a very interesting concept and i wouldn't be opposed to it. If the Kings actually did that, then i would cancel my season tix asap! That's the only game i cared about this upcoming season.

Players should be/need to be a part of the ceremony too, and execs and players can't come together on something like this during a lockout.

Doesnt have to be the official banner raising. If they lose an entire season they can put the banner on display as a back drop to the CUP and allow everyone to get pictures of both together.

I know it probably wont happen but a good way to keep the fans engaged and the Kings front of mind during "Greedfest 2012"

Not a bad idea at all. Would be a decent way to placate Kings fans to a small extent. Of course, under these conditions, the pictures should be free and open to the public. If it means a long wait, so be it.

How 'bout you buy one of the Champions banners and then host your own banner raising in your home? Play some of the DVD videos, pick you preferred song and then lift using an easily constructed/removable pulley system.

You get the catharsis you so clearly need along with the details of the raising suited to your particular preferences. And the Kings make $35 on the banner.

Done and done.
