Well good luck to him, I'll be interested to see how he runs the site. My expectations are not that he'll try to imitate Hammond at all, but I would welcome some objectivity should he display it.

The guy will compile post-game quotes and conduct the occasional interview and crunch a few numbers here and there. Anyone with beat writing experience is more than capable of doing this job.

100% correct to not hire The Mayor or CBGB or any other die-hard fan of the team. It's a beat reporting job, even if it comes in the form of a blog... it isn't built for opinions or columns.

I am as familiar with Rosen as I was with Hammond when he first signed on.

Hammond had been covering the kings for years though before he signed on. We'll see what they do with it.

No, but as Hammond ran it, it was also a place for candid analysis, which is a significant part of beat reporting. If it's just going to be a different place to plant the team's press release materials, why bother?
