Can't remember that far back but was there at drive in movie theater across the street from that place in the late 80s?

Speaking of dumps, did anyone ever play in Ontario back in 89-93'ish? That place was beyond pathetic, we would have games there and the roof would leak, and there were literally golf ball sized lumps all over the ice! And the yellow plastic on the the bottom of the boards was black rubber. The second dumpiest rink imho was Norwalk, with chainlink fence instead of plexiglass around the end boards. I played my Midget C and Midget B hockey there. I remember tearing a hole in the sleeve of my jersey during our first game after checking someone into the fencing there. :/

I did, and shockingly that place is still around. There's a much cleaner facility less than a mile away, but for whatever reason that old dumpy rink is still open to the public eventhough there is a far superior rink down the street.

I mean look at their website. Their website totally matches what you get at that place.

Maybe they can tear it down and build another rink there...one that has level ice, boards that the puck can't slide under, and dressing rooms that are on the ground floor.
It might be a ****hole, but it's my ****hole.

I'd love to see them do what Pasadena did. Build a "temporary" structure in the parking lot, then repurpose the current rink.

It was just south, down the street a few blocks. On Sepulveda just before Jefferson. Got razed to build homes a while back.

I grew up playing in the late 80's to mid 90's at the Ontario rink. I couldn't agree more. Do not miss that place one bit.

That's how I feel. I just started playing hockey this past summer and now I enjoy going there twice a week or so. It sure could use some fixing up, but I just hope it at least sticks around.

My first pick-up game in Los Angeles.
My first stitches from a high-stick.
    Plus many, many broomball misadventures.

    I love this ****ty rink.
(I still wear the Culver Ice league jerseys in pick-up games wherever I roam, and get into conversations because of them!)

Ontario was great, I remember there was one area where the boards were missing. Just not there. So they had orange pylons around it and some police line if I recall correctly! Also remember there was one kid on that team that reminded me of Carl Racki from Youngblood.

LOL the formatting on their website is all jacked up... looks like something they made in a free Geocities website about 15 years ago.
