Last season the Kings, while generally dismal in goal scoring, seemed to have some success scoring shorthanded.
iirc, at some point early in the season the Kings had more goals shorthanded than on the PP.
This season, I haven't seen it yet, or much of that PK pressure leading to turnovers. I'm thinking Richards was a main catalyst last season, so maybe once he gets going? Brown?
What are these short handed goals you speak of!?
These dudes can barely score on five on five and now we have shorthanded expectations?
Los Angeles are ranked 20th in the NHL on the PK with a 79.6% efficiency.
I'd be okay if we just didn't see any goals.

To answer the question, the OP is right. Richards and Brown are the ones that make most short-handed goals happen. Both have had a slow start overall this season. I think Richards sprung Carter on one, but he didn't score.
Yep, it was Richards and Brown, but the whole team was playing a lot more aggressively on the PK, with Mitchel and Greene out the forwards are having to lay back a little more.
I would guess they scored more SH goals in the playoffs than the regular season. maybe.
The Kings had 9 shorties during the 2011-12 season. While that was good enough to tie for 5th in the NHL, it was hardly so staggering a number that the lack of shorties this year is particularly remarkable. Richards had four of them (one of which was an empty netter), Kopi had two, and Gagne, Richardson, and Brown had the other three.Quote:
