Default Stanley Cups from Non-Original 6 Teams

Now with our historic 2 Stanley Cup trophys....I wanted to see where we stood against other non original 6 NHL cup winning teams.

    Here they are...

    Edmonton Oilers 5
    NY Isles 4
    Pitt Penguins 3
    New Jersey Devils 3
    LA KINGS 2
    Colorado Avalanche 2
    Philadelphia Flyers 2
    Calgary Flames 1
    Tampa Bay Lightning 1
    Dallas Stars 1
    Carolina Hurricane 1
The other so cal team 1

Amazing to the think of how good Colorado was in the day and how stacked those teams were...to think we have as many cups as they do it
still shocking. And to think if we can get one more we will have as many as Pittsburgh and New Jersey....legendary franchises with hall of fame of players.
Really puts it into perspective on the job DL has done with the roster.

It also proves.....I cant wait for next season to start.

What sets him apart is that he’s big, and he can skate, and he can protect the puck from anyone. If you’re trying to get it and he doesn’t want you to get, you’re not going to. -Justin Williams on Kopitar

4 or 5 years ago, talk of 1 Cup would have seemed crazy.

I always hoped they'd be this good. I always dreamed of it…the actual realization of it is very surreal…

To see all these Kings "haters" now really makes me proud. Weird, huh? The only thing that blows is that tickets aren't cheap anymore. I used to be able to go to the box office and get tickets the day of the game for next to nothing. Then I'd sneak down to the lower bowl which was usually empty! Unless they were playing a popular team and then the seats were filled with the opposing teams fans! Those days are long gone.

Now I see people with Kings gear on all the time. I used to be made fun of because I loved the Kings. ("I went to a fight and a hockey game broke out!" Or, the ever popular "what's icing?")

Now, all these people are "fans." Ummm where were you guys when they SUCKED? For decades? Oh well, I'd love to see them win another Cup in the next couple of years. That'd be great…..

    Great post, Hip!

Cherish what you have cause you never know if you will see another in your lifetime. And that applies to any winning team - mine included. I was ready to die and go to heaven with the first cup. Second cup I could never have imagined happening. But I don't take it for granted nor do I assume that my team will just runoff a bunch more cups. I'm still waiting for my Chicago Cubbies to win in my lifetime (106 years and counting) - and if it ever happens I will be ready to die then. Bottom line - cherish it, enjoy it, but never take championships for granted.

Believe me, I am very jealous of the low ticket prices you guys still pay. As I pointed out in the other thread the other day showing seat maps comparing locations and prices for both clubs - you guys are still extremely cheap. Quick example, our upcoming February day game against Boston - cheapest seat in the stadium is $107 - that's the individual ticket price directly through the team site. So not only have season tickets gone up substantially but so have individual game tickets - the biggest spike by far is how they price the premium games - you pay at least 20% more hence the $107 "cheap seat" for this game. Enjoy the prices you have - you guys really are getting a bargain.
