Let's not get carried away...Bernier was barely tested last night. The Blues have big problems...still, he won the game and that should help his confidence. The Kings have to find a way to get Quick in top form or they won't make the playoffs.

JB was great last night and he showed some real skill. I think Quick might be playing a little to aggressive/focusing on the uber-dynamic reputation he picked up last year. I wouldn't mind seeing Bernie getting some starts while Quick works through his funk, but I am anxious for 32 to rise to his true level soon.
Last year Murray started the "win and your in" campaign. Bernier won, Quick went back in net the next game. Right now the Kings just need the points. I'd like to see whichever goaltender that is having success in the form of wins/losses get the start.
Bernier did well last night, but the Kings also played their best team defensive game of the year. Everyone on the team was participating on the backcheck, shots primarily were given up from the perimeter but restricted from the slot, the defense cleared rebounds. If the team defense were playing like that every game, Quick would have a lot more success as well.
I think this was exactly one of the types of games that the Kings needed. They needed the backup goalie to start so that they did try harder on defense as a team.
I personally would start him again in the next game. At least give the Kings a little commitment to defense and confidence for both Bernier and the Kings of possibly stringing together a few wins in a row. I'd like to see a sexy party before the season is half over at least.
Trade Quick!
I still prefer the Erisberg LaBarbara combo

Sutter said that Bernier played a very solid game last night and had no rebounds. I think having Bernier start again on Friday is not the end of the world. He's looking great right now, go with it.
I was at the game last night and Bernier looked very sharp. He didn't have to stand on his head, true, but he was in position, alert, and playing with confidence. My sense would be for him to play a little more right now, while Quick continues to get his form back from surgery (he is not far away), but most importantly, to establish his trade value at the high end. Let's face it, we need another scorer or two, a lot more than we need a back-up goalie who should by all rights be a starter in this league. Bernier and one of the kids for someone like Carter again would be a great deal, and we don't need to wait until the deadline as far as I am concerned.
