No matter how horrible the game losing goal is.
But I will. Detroit should have been shutout. I have no problem with a 1-0 game. Even with the lousy noncall by the linesman at worst it should have gone to overtime 1-1.

"Did I hear you need someone else in goal?"

"Yeah, do you guys need a hand?"

"What's that? You could use some assistance in goal?!?!"

"I read on the internet that you're not happy with your current guy ........"

    NO.

    Collectively:

    "Darn!"

    Bernier's the back-up. Quick's the #1.

If the Kings played a 1a/1b tandem, then sure, maybe Sutter should go with the goalie who won last. But... I don't think those tandems ever win the cup; you have to have a guy you depend on.

Quick is that guy, and he has the hardware to prove it. He's start Friday, and rightfully so. Much like the rest of the Kings offense, he's bound to have better overall numbers once he finds his game.

Yeah, well let's see what that asteroid has to say about that.

The last thing this team needs is a goalie controversy. Bernier is the back up. Hes trade bait. He's not starting 2 games in a row unless Quick is injured.

Just for argument and amusement, where would Bernier be the automatic starter if traded? And what would be the return?

I thought he looked alright against STL but didn't face pressure like when the Kings don't score and every save is game breaking.

The point is that JB controlled those rebounds extremely well. They were almost universally right at his feet and he was able to cover them immediately. This has always been one of his strengths.

I hate to be a gigantic Quick apologist... ok no I don't... BUT...................

Excluding Banner Night, that stupid Nashville game and his pull from the Ducks game... here are Quicks numbers so far this season...

    3-2-2
    0.921 SV%
    2.09 GAA

Oh... and his goal support in those 4 losses? 5 goals. In 4 losses. They scored 5... ****ing... goals.

Now.... Sure... it's a shortened season so that last moment goal against the Red Wings hurts. And it's all against Conference opponents so losing to the Ducks in a clobbering hurts.

    BUT....

Are you really going to blame Quick for losing on Banner Night to the most clearly dominant team in the league?
Are you really going to blame Quick for losing to Nashville while only facing 14 shots when the Kings didn't even score ONE?
Are you really going to blame Quick for giving up two goals early when his replacement went on to give up 4 against a bizarrely high powered Anaheim team?
Are you really going to blame Quick when half his losses are on nights his team is only scoring 1.25 Goals a game?

    REALLY?

The guy who is playing with no training camp after back surgery? The guy who, when he's on, is STILL only allowing about 2 goals a game?

While the team he's back stopping is missing 2 of their best penalty killers and shutdown defencemen?
While the team is 23rd in offense and only scoring around 2.2 Goals per game?

    REALLY?

    REALLY?

    Pfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff ffffffffffffffffffff
Nice rant, Doc, but I don't really think anyone (except that one guy that said it sarcastically) is saying to trade him, he sucks. Just that JB might deserve another start. That's a very supportable opinion.

CBJ are not the pushover they were last year. All you have to do is look at what they did to the Kings and to San Jose the other night.
