And by silly I mean, well, you know...

The problems with stats and relying on probability are that the resulting predictions for moving toward the mean are open-ended. If the present numbers are maintained, the wins by average will start turning in the Kings favor. However, there is no guaranty that change in the trend line will occur soon enough for the Kings to remain in the race for the playoffs, let alone gain home ice advantage, during this season. One can only hope.

I wonder how many points a team gets for holding the puck for extended periods of time.
Maybe those stats are padded since Doughty and Kopitar never shoot it.

Thus far it does seem to correlate to on-field success, we'll see how long it remains relevant.

Just 1: Kings would have won the Dodger Stadium game 22-3

I don't think anyone is suggesting that there's a guaranty. Things tend to revert to the mean, which is encouraging. Will they, and will they soon enough? We shall see.

So what you're saying is... we need to fire Sutter and trade for Jeff Carter?

I was shocked that the Kings are like 27th in PP scoring. That means there are teams WORSE than them on the power play?!? WTF!!
