STH's: Read the fine print on your refund options.

Hey there STH's and Mini-Plan holders

By now you should all hove gotten the email telling you about your refund options. Lifted from the kings website they are:

Option 1 – Kings Loyalty Reward Credit: You will receive a 5% Annual Percentage Interest Rate credit on the amount of license fee payments which remain with the Kings. The license fee payments (as adjusted by the interest rate credit) can be applied as a credit against license fees due for 2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs games, or the 2013-14 Regular Season games. See below for full terms and conditions.

Option 2 – Plan Refund: Alternatively, you will receive a monthly prorated refund of license fee payments held for any cancelled games plus a 1% Annual Percentage Rate refund payment. See below for full terms and conditions

In English, option 1 means that the Kings will hold your money until there are games again. They will pay you 5% interest on your money until the lockout is over or 3/30/2012. Whichever comes first. This money becomes a credit good for 2012-2013 regular season payments, 2012-2013 playoff payments, and then 2013-2014 regualr season payments.

Option 2 is the refund. The Kings will pay you back your money plus 1% interest. The catch is that you don't get all your money back at once. You will get montly payments back starting when the number of games you have paid for have been cancelled. For example, if you have paid 25% of your invoice, you will get money back once 75% of the games are cancelled. If you paid 45% of your invoice, you will get money back once 55% of the games are cancelled.

But wait, there is another catch for option 2. The fine print says

I'm interpreting this to mean that if you select option 2 you are cancelling your season ticket account, not just your tickets for this season. This is a big deal if you are in the Die Hard section since you MAY not be able to get back there.

This is purely for your information and not to be taken as advice. Please contact your ticket rep for more information and be sure to be specific with your questions. I would advise getting something in writing if they say that you will not be moved if you choose option 2.

I have a call in to my rep and i will update this when he gets back to me.

Also, since we need a poll. What option are you choosing: Option 1 or Option 2?

edit: I cant imagine that a thread on LGK would get out of hand, but yeah, lets make sure it doesn't.

It REALLY f'n sucks knowing that there is a 4th lockout now since 1992. Plus knowing the Kings just won the damn SC and getting more respect around s. cali with more media/fans an all. What a damn shame this had to happen all due to the owners.

But I not going to give up on my Kings. HELL NO!!! I'm there for my team no matter what.

Probably a stupid question but here goes. So I'm on the 10 month plan. I think the Kings have already took $300. So if the lockout were to last the whole season... I only get 5% of that $300 total? That would only be $15 in credit. Is that right? Or is it 5% per month or whatever?

I dont think so... 5% back on anything you pay until 3/30/12. Except its gonna go to your ticketbastard account and auto pay for playoff tickets.

From what I've heard, nobody is getting die hard pricing next season so it really doesn't matter.

Dear AEG (or whoever owns ooowwnz da team next year), that would be seen as an act of war. If you follow up a lockout with the cancellation of the Die-Hard pricing, I'll be fully prepared to burn that mutha to the ground.

Kings are pikers. Wild are giving a 10% loyalty payment.

You shouldn't be paying anything else. Automatic payments have been suspended until the lockout is settled.
