It's like my son telling me which hockey stick he wants. Apparently every ounce a stick is lighter is valuable to him. I don't get it, but he insists this brand, this curve, this lie, this flex, this weight, etc. is worth the extra money. I don't get it, but he knows more about that topic than I do. So I rely on his expertise and trust that he knows the value. I don't have to understand it.
How old is your son, what level of play does he skate? Yes lighter, etc is better but these companies do just as good a job as cereal makers in marketing their brand. It may be the hottest stick available but it might not make him any better than a stick half the price. Teach him the value of money young and you will both be happy.

No, there is nothing wrong w/ it if someone can afford it. Yah I'm sure they do have better settings that you pay through the ass for. My point is the diamonds. GIA is GIA no matter if its from Tiffany's or Robins Bros. If all the specs on the diamond are exactly the same you know the one from Tiffany's will be twice the price b/c of the box.

I've always dreamt of receiving a little blue box from that special someone.

Maybe I'll just have to get one for myself.

I can never have enough bling.

In this case, I would think Tiffany is the only place making these. Might get one for if I hear they are worth it. Though would the LAK give away that type of replica to fans for free? would cost them a fortune..

What you should have told him was to take what ever it was going to cost him to get you a car, deduct the cost of the ring, buy a cheaper car and then get you both! The ring is cool, but your first car is freedom!

For the record, I didn't get a present from you for my birthday. I'll PM you my address. Thank you so much and you can pick up a slice of cake whenever you like.

He's Tier Midget Minor and he's very particular about all of his equipment. He found his own skate sharpener because all the rink guys cross grind unnecessarily. He won't let anyone touch his sticks and he takes really good care of them. He's not using $500.00 sticks, but he's not using $150.00 sticks either. I trust him. He does his research and finds deals. But it is true that you get what you pay for. I may not understand everything about the sticks he chooses, but I see the results. I'm certain he knows the value of a dollar.

Now, when he was a pee wee, he used previous years models on clearance from Hockey Giant and beat the hell out of them. Now he takes care of his sticks better and plays at a level where he needs a good stick.
