Thread: Trade for another defenseman

The "Boys" are getting a little thin on the blueline, how about acquiring Mike Komiserek from the Leafs. He fits the bill for a fifth or sixth defenseman paired with Drewiski or Muzzin or Amart when he comes off of IR. He's 31, 6'4", 234 lbs. and most importantly is a right handed shot. DL might be able to get him for a third round pick. What are your thoughts on this deal?

IF we are going to a top tier team we need to develop top tier players. We can keep living off the (s)crap heaps of other teams. We have a rich history of doing this and what did it get us ?

have you actually WATCHED Komisarek play?

No thanks. Also I would rather save assets because Scuderi may not re-sign and Mitchell may not be here much longer either. Those will be 2 tough guys to replace so rather wait maybe have to trade to get D-men similar to them. Komisarek would not come close to either of those 2.

And which top prospects do you suggest we trade in order to get a high end defensive replacement? And where do we put these replacements once some of our regulars come off of IR? Trading for temporary 6 or 7 slot dmen to replace injured players is not the same as dumpster diving. It's what you have to do in certain situations in order to not put yourself in cap hell and deplete your farm systemin the process.
