Yes, AHL history is littered with prolific goal scorers who couldn't translate their prowess to the bigs, and yes, he's super inexperienced and yes, his skating is questionable. Now that that is out of the way, Williams has looked pretty damn awful and has seemed to catch Patrick O'sullivan-itis...shooting weak wristers from the blue line. Constantly. All while dragging a piano tied to his waist. Goal scoring threats aren't something this team has in abundance, so, any chance this guy gets called up soon?

Not likely. We'd need several injuries to make this a possibility.

Also, I don't really think our lack of scoring is an issue specific to Williams.

This whole "bad skater" thing is blown way out of proportion.

I love the guy. He tries hard, he actually gives a good interview (rare on this team) and he's devastatingly handsome. His play on the ice has been very poor this year though, I don't know how that can be argued. 1 goal, 5 assists and leading the team in minor penalties while getting top line minutes is bad...but it's more so the way he's lugging his body around the ice that's the bigger concern to me. He looks awfully slow and hasn't been the playmaker he's been in the past.

Obviously, his role on the top line is strictly a complementary one...Brown and Kopitar should be carrying the bulk of the load there, but Williams still has to produce and stay out of the box. He's doing neither. Why not bring up a kid to potentially/hopefully/maybe spark things and let Justin try to "find his game" or whatever on the bottom lines where his lack of production won't be magnified....the Kings' bottom lines aren't stopper units anyways so his lack of defensive acumen won't be a hindrance.

I made a similar bitchy thread about Dwight King after round 1 against the Nucks calling out his play and he immediately started to catch fire and make me look like a moron. Hoping to catch lightning in a bottle again

Williams is a workhorse. He does everything on his line except get a lot of points. As our scoring comes around, so will Williams.
