Don't read too much into my comment...I still think DD is awesome (IMO) he was the real playoff MVP last year) but he does try too hard at times and that is reflected in his dreadful +/-. I would like to see him reduce the curve on his stick -- I seem to remember him changing it his rookie year to enable shooting over the D. Now his shot is the reincarnation of Zhitnik. Voynov has a nice hard low shot and that's the way to do it.
How about they both rock?
Can we live with 2 awesome D-men?
Yeah. Everyone turning to their flavor of the week. I wonder how many of the same folks wanted to tar and feather Lombardi for dealing Johnson for Jeff Carter, who is arguably our best player at the moment.
I loved the stat shared yesterday, that the team as a whole is first in shots against, and last in GAA. Mr. Softie is not back up to where he was last Spring. Hell, he's not even back to where he was in December of 2011.
Lob that with the recent Fenwick comparison, where the Kings are first in the league, and this is just a matter of things coming together all at the same time.
at the draft party a couple of years ago, and under a considerable haze, i heard Birdman yell out the following (about 4 or 5 times, i think) - "don't marry yourselves to players!" he went on to reiterate that idea more than once on the boards, and i believe it to be absolutely sage.

it's a Fenwick thing... all those ridiculous metrics are far too atheist for me, and give me a headache. but yeah, the advanced stats indicate that the Kings are the toughest team in the league or something. i KNOW they're first overall in puck possession, and their lead over #2 (funny enough, St. Louis) was pretty handsome last time i looked.
