meeting over
Still think this gets done, but Fehr and players pissing off the two of the greatest moderates in Leafs and Pens has to have a lot of players feeling uneasy.Lebrun: From league perspective, no optimism from League. Owners are furious they left without a deal. Players think situation is fragile. Players want to appease league on 1 area, but not sure which.
Dreger: Number of owners didn't want 300 million in play at this point. Chipman, Tampa owner and Pittsburgh owner pitched it. Players association saw it as a small step and came back into meeting with small things league had to address to move forward in the negotiation. Owners infuriated. Leafs owner and Pens owner were really upset over how things played out.
McKenzie: Leafs want to be playing games because they are missing out on so much money. Players notice the decline in interest in Leafs owner. The fear now is that small team owners don't like 300 million make whole. Other teams want to be part of it. If Gary Bettman recommends the deal be accepted, he only needs a certain amount of owners to accept it.
Duthie: Players want more information and other players actually want to have a vote on this offer.
McKenzie: Pressure right now is on Fehr and there are players and agents that want to push this to a vote. Some think this deal that is on table shouldn't be the reason they lose a season.
Dreger: Players still in support of the Fehr's but other players want more say in the process. Players will wait for Fehr's recommendation.

Players association is going have a press conference at about 10 to 15 minutes per NHL network radio
Last comment I'll make on this b/c its beating a dead horse.
There were NO, ZERO, NADA, ZILCH, reputable sources claiming that it was done. You haven't named of the people you follow who said it was done.
Things are seriously fracturing right now in the negotiations. Is there any truth to that? B/c twitter is blowing up right now w/ those reports?
Frozen Fury, the only reason you can't wait for summer to end!![]()

Bill Daly and NHL contingent have left hotel. They will have internal meeting with Gary Bettman and owners still in NYC.

League will get back to NHLPA in some form or another. Not clear if both sides will meet again or not tonight at this point

Why's he gotta be hitting the horse in the junk? That's just uncalled for.
at the draft party a couple of years ago, and under a considerable haze, i heard Birdman yell out the following (about 4 or 5 times, i think) - "don't marry yourselves to players!" he went on to reiterate that idea more than once on the boards, and i believe it to be absolutely sage.

Fehr says latest proposal should "put us on a road to a quick end" to the CBA dispute.

Fehr feels both sides should be able to reach a deal given what players have come back with. Feels there's a complete agreement on "dollars"
Hmmm...
