In my mind, part of the reason that these billionaire owners are as wealthy as they are because a) they're ruthless and b) they're (to some varying degree) dishonest. No one accumulates that kind of wealth without stepping on others and creating a business environment that favors them. Yes, that's capitalism, and yes, that's the world in which we live. But fortunately we also live in a world where voices that are united in a common cause can still affect policy.
great lockout article

Ok, if the players listen to you, the season's likely done, most of the players don't get anything near what they would instead, and if they insist on "winning", the NHL may go into a recycle bin.
Look, I'm NOT saying the owners are saints and deserve more money (I never ever said that). All I'm saying is that it's how it works and they have every right to demand these things as long as some teams are losing money - because without their ruthless millions, there wouldn't be NHL teams.
And regarding the knowing if previous CBA was skewed or not: yes it was. Because 57% went to the players. That means the higher the revenues, the higher imbalance/skewness. If revenues remained at around the same level, there would be much less fuss about the new CBA.
All I do is stating the obvious and logical stuff that some people clearly ignore when siding with the players. There won't be "peace" or "winning" for the players until ALL teams are at least at positive zero. Period.
