In my mind, part of the reason that these billionaire owners are as wealthy as they are because a) they're ruthless and b) they're (to some varying degree) dishonest. But fortunately we also live in a world where voices that are united in a common cause can still affect policy.

You really think players and their union have no access whatsoever to the books...really? you think they are playing with their future based on a "we'll play it by ear" philosophy? we, the fans, may not get to see the details but believe me the players and Fehr have a pretty good idea of the numbers. Also you got media, agents etc that would have to willingly participate in covering the truth, and that truth according to you, would be that they do as they wish, they are above the law etc? come on!

By the way, many may agree with some of your comments regarding the business practices of owners and how they may or may not conduct business however, dishonest? so all poor people are honest? what a load of crap, ridiculous assumption and belief.

Perhaps my use of the word "dishonest" isn't exactly correct. How about "unethical" or "immoral"?

Sorry, but that is just too silly to believe (and I don't mean the skepticism expressed by someone that Bettman and Fehr would use a common form of personal communication to schedule a meeting). So let's clarify here. First of all, in the last sentence of the quote, is Bettman "he" or is Bettman "him"? In other words, who "blew up on" whom? Second, is your friend seriously suggesting that, in response to a completely benign text from Bettman about when Fehr wants to meet, Fehr would respond that it is none of Bettman's business when Fehr wants to meet? I know none of us like these two clowns and called both of them just about every name in the book, but they're not literally idiots or in third grade or anything like that. If Fehr were going to respond with something like that -- and I seriously doubt he did, logic dictates that there would have been something else that precipitated it. And while we're at it, why is your friend spreading silly rumors like this?
