I would be perfectly happy with a 50-game season. Honestly, I would be perfectly happy with a 50-game season every season. 82 games is too many and serves no purpose other than to bring in more money.
I've come to peace with it. Will I enjoy watching when it comes back? Of course. But after thinking far too long about this form of entertainment, I've already gotten more than my fair share out of the Kings and LGK.
1. Met fiance at a Kings rookie camp
2. Captained out of state tourney hockey team (thanks to LGK... always wanted to do that)
3. Got to see the team I'm (often overly) passionate about win the Cup.
4. Proposed in front of said Cup.
And of course I got a few great friends out of it throughout the years.
It has saddened me to see so much stupidity between the players and owners of the sport I love, but ****... can't complain about what I've gotten from it.
Looks like someone entered the "Acceptance" stage. Score.
I just unfollowed all hockey reporter related twitter accounts. Except the fluffy ones like Mayor's Manor and Puck Daddy.
My next step is unfollowing them.
I really need to read a book or something. What does everyone recommend?
at the draft party a couple of years ago, and under a considerable haze, i heard Birdman yell out the following (about 4 or 5 times, i think) - "don't marry yourselves to players!" he went on to reiterate that idea more than once on the boards, and i believe it to be absolutely sage.
