Well, unlike you, obviously, I'm a fan of the game of hockey, not just the Kings. And I enjoyed the Kings sucking ass for a decade prior to that as well.

I will never understand this argument, either. Hockey is one of the greatest sports challenges out there from start to finish. Why anyone would want less of this game I will never understand.

I'd like to see more meaningful hockey. Playing 80+ games in a season makes an individual game mean next to nothing.

Precisely. Quality > Quantity. I'd rather watch two great games of hockey than four mediocre games. I think the quality of the hockey would be improved both because each game would be more important and because there would be fewer injuries. The human body is not designed for 100+ games of NHL hockey, it breaks down. We'd get to see more of the top players playing, rather than being on injured reserve. Teams would be healthier going into the real season, the playoffs. As far as I'm concerned, the regular season is just the prelude to the real season. Why do I want 82 games of pre-season?

Go one step further. Contract the league to 24 teams. I'd be for that as well.
