Not easily to be honest, either the owner has to start digging money out of his pocket in the hope that in the long term it increase the value of the franchise enough so that when it is sold he recoups his investment or he goes Mark Cuban and doesn't care.
Without true revenue sharing in place there will always be teams that cannot afford to keep star players.
There is no true partnership right now, both sides know there are billions of dollars sitting on the table and neither side will back down so they can get a share.
Agreed...well said - on both counts.
And that's really my point in all this...it's not fixable because "true partnerships" between franchise owners and players is impossible because 1) owners don't want to give up the "extra" profit if/when revenue grows alot...and 2) players will never give up the guaranteed income and take the risk that they'll not only not get paid but they could actually owe money.
Merry Christmas to all you pro-con, con-pro bitches. Hope to see you at Staples next season. If you are willing to see a Reign game in B-town, I'll see you there.
Well, he said "they aren’t dumb enough to cancel the entire season." I've been saying that since before the Kings won the Cup. I've stopped saying that because it is pretty evident that yes, they are absolutely dumb enough. I'm still hopeful greed will prevail and they will play. Unfortunately, arrogance and hubris seem to be ruling the day.
