Eklund is reporting (as are a few other news outlets now) that a new offer was made yesterday by the NHL. 6 year player contracts and the Make Whole Clause still at $300 million. I doubt the players take it. Ferh has done a masterful job at getting better and better offers simply by saying no. I think there will ultimately be a season, but I think the deal is going to be a last minute thing. If the season is lost then I think Ferh is going to know he overplayed his hand and the players will get nowhere near what is being offered right now.

If a buyout is offered it makes me wonder if there is a player the Kings would end buying out.

Good. Saves some face for the players, and hopefully gets the deal closer.

Fehr will want something more, and counteroffer. Hopefully bettman doesn't go for the public display of outrage.

The question I have is where we stand right now in terms of offers still to come. When do we actually see the sides get to the end of the table? Like I said above, I think there is going to be a season, but I don't think it's going to come until the last possible second.

Well, we have 2-3 weeks either way.
If I read the article correctly, (and if it is itself correct), there aren't any drop dead issues remaining. So at least everything is on the table.

I might be able to make it for two more weeks but barely! Get 'er done! I need to go to the Penalty Box!!!

Ughh. I went before the Clipper game on Christmas and they wouldn't let me use my mug. They said that the button for the bigger glad was taken off of the register screen.
