Is this the same as the NHL's previous "take it or leave it" positions? If so, this is going to break down in a hurry.

Well that is certainly bigger news than Bryz coming back, The NHL has zero desire to be stuck on some no name network again, so a little pressure from NBC will help them see the light, now if only a few of the players can get in Fehr's ear....I still hold out little hope for a season though.

More like NJ's first championship in the strike-shortened season was tainted, but you never hear that anymore if ever.

Also, if they have a season, Quick will likely be more ready and the rest of the team well rested, as has been pointed out numerous times.

Nor is it about a notional increase to our chances of repeating (a goal that's eluded teams a lot more odds-on-favored than ours).

After 45 years, it's about having a full-length, uncompressed, honest-to-goodness, play-both-conferences NHL season to enjoy being defending champs, with all the perks (including bragging rights in other arenas) that confers.

Is there a time set up for them to meet today? I have not seen od heard anything yet. I feel like I am in an old Mervn's commercial OPEN OPEN OPEN up the season already.

That's sorta my thing too. The idea of only having 24 home games instead of 41 just doesn't feel fair after winning last year.
