To be honest I'd rather the season be called. I hate short seasons. They seem like a complete cash grab so owners and players can get something out of it rather than a full season. So, yeah, I'd rather have no games this year and get a full one next year. That's just my .02 however. I know a lot of folks feel differently.Originally Posted by SuxBeingU

I know what you are saying but if half a season is a "cash grab" does that mean a full season is a "half of a cash grab"?
To me I don't care how many games they play as long as the playoffs are FOUR rounds with best of 7. That usually separates the phoneys from the real thing, I like watching the NHL so let's do it!

Despite the universal idocy of his trade/FA "rumors", Ek's reporting of the lockout and negotiations has been excellent.
He was actually pretty good at it the last go round too.
at the draft party a couple of years ago, and under a considerable haze, i heard Birdman yell out the following (about 4 or 5 times, i think) - "don't marry yourselves to players!" he went on to reiterate that idea more than once on the boards, and i believe it to be absolutely sage.

It should it was booked as if it was a full NHL season .
I would imagine most arenas have a full schedule as well so going to be tough to change things around all over the league.
Not impossible but just a massive ball ache for all concerned.

At the very minimum it would at least end the stress about WHEN they will settle this nonsense. You KNOW if the season were to be cancelled, so would the sense of urgency to negotiate. I'm sure they wouldn't negotiate until next season were at risk of being lost. So even if you HATE the idea of a partial season, at least you could take pleasure in the fact that NEXT season would start on time. Certainly THAT would be something to be happy about right?
Ugh, a short season will be a train wreck. 45 games jammed into a couple of months with no training camps or proper offseason. I miss the Kings and I miss hockey, but...
