well if this all comes down to a deal, I'd really like to know who profited off of this nonsense and punch them in the nuts. For the most part it seems like it will be a giant pissing contest with debatable returns

well,
owners got 7% increase in revenue (couple of Billion dollars over the life of the cba)
lowered contract risk, and solidified cap integrity
not sure what players got, oh yeah, they can appeal punishments to an independent arbitrater woohoo!

as for which teams will benefit: the big market teams will make even more money, the bottom feeders will still lose money, and those in the middle will alternate between breakeven and small profits. (not counting the profits from ancillary non-hockey related HRR)

And in 8 years there will be another lockout since revenue sharing wasn't really addressed.
