    This sucks for Westy. I just saw him last night at the meet the players event and he was really excited to get going with the team. He was the rep for the Kings in the negotiations and then they trade him.

    It just sucks.

    Great move by Carolina, to get a character player that will get more of an opportunity to play on a regular basis. He may have not fit in the Kings plans but hopefully he will get a good shot with the Canes. I am happy for Westgarth and the Canes. For some that think this is a steal for the Kings you may have HUA syndrome.

    It is a bummer to see him go but like the others have said, this was a great deal for the Kings! Im not sure if this is a good thing, but I'll remember him most for that time he stepped up to Jon Scott of the Blackhawks and got destroyed by Scott.

    If DL had gotten a 6th round pick only, it would have been a steal. Westgarth was a wasted roster spot for the Kings. To get 3 assets in exchange is a monumental steal.
