Believe me, I saw that. I tried to logically and factually respond to him and it was apparent after one attempt that it wasn't even worth it. If Oilers' management has the same philosophy on building a hockey team that some of their fans do, that team is screwed.

Hopefully, this turns out like a previous trade with the 'Canes: We got a young, future All-Star defenseman in Jack Johnson, and Carolina got a young hard-hitting future Captain in Tim Gleason.

There's a saying that the best trades are the ones that work out for both teams and I'm a firmer believer on that. There's also a saying that the team that gets the best player in a trade, wins the trade.


I know it's too early to say and whatnot but that 4th round pick is looking pretty good so far.

ATL / WPG (Immediately consigned him to the AHL for an entire season; cut bait with him when the move to Winnipeg took place)
No qualifying offer made after career totals; left as a free agent.

CAR (signed 2-year deal)
Waived at end of last season (no takers); the Kings, in their infinite wisdom, trade for him.

There has to be a reason that he has not been re-signed by any of the teams for which he has played, even with the respectable numbers over the last two seasons.

Prediction: Form will hold and he'll be gone after this season (No qualifying offer).

Too many posts already on a marginal trade for a marginal guy. It shows how long this lockout has gone.

Even if Stewart gets waived and/or picked by another team this is a good trade.
