that comeback was so much fun to watch. thank you for an entertaining night, kings.
-Ready to get steamrolled. We really need to win this game. I don't want the playoff hunt to be as close as it is. A regulation loss will likely drop us out of the playoffs after tonight. Need a big win.
-I'll be surprised if the Blues win. The Kings own the Blues. Not too long ago, the Blues owned the Kings, but the tables have turned. I hope to see a good effort out of them tonight though, and to not see them give up if something goes wrong.
-Anyway hope the Blues show up tonight in LA, and a unexpected victory would be welcome, but not expected.
-Half of this board is going to implode if the Blues lose...And historically, the Kings have dominated them. This one looks to be ugly.
-somtimes when you least expect it, the Blues us. They have Halak in goal and usually play well on the road. Plus the Kings played Nashville last night.
-I'm not gonna look too much into this game. Going to play a team we can't beat on the road in the midst of an injury filled slump. I'm just hoping they show some heart
-Halak is going to have to lead us to victory tonight.
I full expect LA to power right through our defense yet again.
-Hoping for a tired Kings team and a surprising Blues team...
-Literally zero expectations for this one (I don't think the board will implode if they lose...most have accepted LA is a much better team) but the first period will probably tell the tale if it's going to be a rout or not. LA has been a slow starting team this year and their 10 first period goals is the worst in hockey. And they played last night. But collectively they get incredibly better as a game goes along and have given up TWO third period goals in their last 8 games...and one was an empty netter. Blues better show up early if they don't want to be embarrassed.
-Well, who knows. Maybe this team comes out an shocks us with a great performance, or maybe Bernier/Quick just ***** the bed for no apparent reason. That's why they play the game. Could be one hell of a game or a complete disaster; time will tell.
-Think this is going to be a depressing night.
-IMO the thing to remember is that until the Blues can overcome the Kings, they're relying on all kinds of luck to not meet the Kings in the playoffs at some point. Watching how the Kings play tonight and asking what do we need before we can match that roster – that's the main takeaway tonight.
-Watch them win 5-0 lol.
-I think the negativity is overblown big time.
-By the way (and I realize he spent a lot of time in the Eastern Conference), since he entered the league, Jaroslav Halak has the second best GAA (1.70)and save percentage (.935) vs. the Los Angeles Kings. Halak trails only Mike Smith of the Phoenix Coyotes.
Blues are 4-1-1 in their last six regular season games against the Kings at the Staples Center.
I suppose I can be accused of being a blind homer and that's ok, but I simply don't believe the Blues are incapable of beating the Kings, or anyone else. Is the team flawed? Sure. But it's not as bad as people are making it out to be.
-I'm positive the Blues have the most overly negative board on HF
It's ridiculous.. be a bit positive.
-Feeling like a loss with the way they are playing, so Ill say 3-1 Kings, 3rd Kings goal being an empty netter. Kopitar with 3 points, 2 goals and a helper.
Hope Im wrong.
-Kings fans chanting "Blues Suck"
Blues fans yelling at their tv "we know"
-Anybody else's audio on the St. Louis feed sound like they're broadcasting from the toilet..... not a good omen.
-uh oh....Doughty hasn't scored yet this season.....
-Carter had a hat trick last night on hat night so hopefully he used up his goal quota for the week
-Damn. D'ags needs to bury that.
-Ping! So close Dags.
-Burying that would have been huge D'Agostini.
So close. Like the pace early and Halak strong on his first real attempt.
-How did D'Agostini miss that wide open net??? My grandmother could have popped that in and she'[s been dead for 20 years!). There was a LOT of room!
jackman/fraser fight then polak/clifford:
-This is a bad trade-off for the Blues.
-Wow Kyle Clifford just destroyed Polak.
-God. Jackman and Polak off the ice for five minutes. I hope Polak's alright, that looked brutal.
-Great. Now we're rolling with 4 D for the next 5 minutes and LA is out Fraser and Clifford.
-Polak just got destroyed
-Really bad decision by Polak no reason for him to be fighting right after jacks fights, now we only have 4 dman for 5 mins
Not to mention he lost that easily
-Wow. The Polak door just got kicked down.
-I like how feisty the Blues are right now, but I feel like we just got MAD screwed.
-He threw a bullet though right before he went down
-The Blues can't let the game get away from them because of their tempers.
-Wow, this game is getting chippy.
-This is the kind of the game the Blues need to get their heads out of their ***** this year.
-The Kings are targeting the Blues defensemen to great effect so far this game.
-Just goading them into it. Smart play really.
-Yeah, reinforcing why none of us like the Kings.
-I think that LA has players in the box that are far more replaceable than what the Blues are missing.
-Reaves and Stewart are going to kick some body's ass before it's over
-Dat offensive zone penalty
-These penalties are gonna get the best of us.
-Someone is going to get hurt in this game.
-Does anyone get the impression that the Kings aren't going to put anyone of value on the ice when Reaves is out there? They'll let him fight, but it'll be someone they don't care about losing for 5 minutes.
-Gorgeous play by Stewart that shift.
-Turn on the game to take a break from studying and a goal!
suddenly a wild muzzin appears:
-Aaaaannnnndddd it's gone
-And of course that didn't last long.
-And they score. Epic collapse incoming. How many times does this have to happen before someone is held accountable?!
-But they relax and give it right back! Bah!
-And just like that, it's tied. yep.
-God, the Kings just try to lay as big of a hit as possible at all times.
Sometimes, I feel like they are the big kid on the playground who picks on all of the smaller kids, but have no intent of taking on the bigger kids.
Edit: fighting with visors...*ahem*
-This team is a continuous source of kicks to the balls.
-Go reaves. When there's not a fight going on it looks like the Blues r doing pretty good. Making the Kings panic and start taking dives.
-Too bad there is no realignment that would ever make sense for us to be in a division with the Kings because this is fun
-Agreed, games against LA, SJ, and ANA are usually the most physical, intense, penalty filled games of the year. Unfortunately until the invent much faster ways of travel its not possible for us to be in the Pacific, but then agian if we were we would be physically drained by time the POs started every year
-Well, that was a carbon copy of the playoffs. Kings always have a response. That's mentally tough. And what the **** was Oshie doing?
-I'm pretty sure King regretted that fight after Reaves landed the first punch, he spent the rest of the fight trying to end it.
-Wasn't Halak screened on this one? (Listening to radio and relying on the announcers.)
-Yeah hardcore. Kopitar was camped in front
-I've never heard of Muzzin before tonight, but he's been all over the place this period.
-Soby! PLEASE Blue keep this lead!
-Hopefully this will stand for a bit
-Now let's go a shift without giving up a goal, yes?
-Overall, this has been the Blues best period as a team in a long time.
Offensive juggernaut Barrett Jackman at it again
-What do you know, we grow a pair a balls, and then we start scoring.
-Finally a sign of LIFE in this team!
-An eventful first for sure
-As if my respect for King couldn't any worse, he's playing tough guy this year behind a windshield.
-That was one exciting period of hockey
-Love this game so far, very entertaining. Nice to see the Blues haven't completely lost their team toughness. Too much skill and not enough grit lately.
-More action in that period than the average Blues game. that's for sure.
-Good period. Still too many chances for the Kings, however.
-This is the game that can turn the season around. I'd expect Army to use non-roster players not named Jaskin to go after that last piece to the defense.
-I'm hoping the frustration is finally coming out and paying off.
Although, when the King's top line is out there 5-on-5 it looks like they're on the powerplay.
second period, starting with perron's goal:
-Nice tip by Perron!!!
-Quick in now
-This game perfectly illustrates why the Srewart vs. Perron arguments are retarded. A cup contending team shouldn't be trading either one.
-Perron! Keep your foot on the pedal, Blues.
-Let's see if they can play well for a full 60 minutes, and hold onto this lead!
-Digging this game so far.
-This has been a man's game so far.
then stewart scores a really pretty one:
-What a goal by Stewart!!!!! That sexy back hand!!!
-Sweet Jumping Jesus that line is awesome
-Yep, neither of those are being traded lol.
-I bow to the almighty Stewart.
-That was filthy.
-Holy hell, that was a sweet play.
-Wow...this is nice.
-Oh god, this feels so good.
-Re-sign Stewart tonight!
-I hate to beat a dead horse, but the Blues play completely different in front on Halak than Elliott.
-Lets all be negative dicks before games more often
-Will tonight be the return of Blues hockey? I hope so!
-lets not get too far ahead of ourselves though. there is still another period for us to play like crap.
-**** yeah I love Stewart. He looks awesome.
-The Blues are defending very well.
-Blues have 10 SOG, and 8 of them are good scoring chances. Welcome to playoff hockey.
voynov to the rescue:
-No way Halak could see that one...Nichol with the screen
-That's a shame.
-Damn. Stewie's goal is huge now. Let's get to the third w/ a 2 goal lead please!!
-Dammit Halak. That's an Elliott goal
-Yeah, definitely need to not let off. Sometimes the Blues seem to do that. No shame in running up the score. Ooh, penalty...getting the Kings back in the game.
-We HAVE to kill this penalty! This could kill us if we give one up here.
-its that stupid ********** cartman chant.... so stupid better kill this btw
-Oh man, if we give up a goal here, I'm probably going to go drink whatever I can find under the sink.
-Kings score then get a PP on a weak call. Sounds about right.
-LA is good but Jesus do they seem to get every break when we play them.
Gut check time. It typically takes them 25 minutes before they start to dominate.
-That's a pretty good call. He pretty much bear hugged him.
-And they DO kill it off-in good style. That last Kings' goal was lucky, so The Blues are still playing well.
-Not again! Geez the penalties are driving me insane.
-What kind of horse **** call is that?
-Are you effing kidding me...
-Polak with another penalty if we kill this we get to the 3rd with a 2 goal lead
King was falling before Polak touched him
-That was the weakest call I've ever seen.
-King lost his balance. Unfortunate.
Good teams kill these off.
-On second view...I'm even more pissed. The moron fell on his own
-Refs are doing everything they can to ruin my night.
-What the **** is the point if the refs are always gonna screw us over? What a weak ass call.
-so that elbow to Backes' head wasn't a penalty? I'd like to see a suspension for that. Clear elbow to the head.
-Well the good news is that, at least the refs are trying to keep this game interesting. Waiting for another penalty so the Kings can get a 5 on 3.
-Pleeeeeeeeeeease kill this off. 2-goal lead into the 3rd gives me a lot of hope. Otherwise, not so much.
-King is one more gutless move from the Maltby hattrick. He's already turtled in a fight behind a visor and dove shamelessly.
-Haha suck it Kings and refs.
-hey they wear the same colors! The Kings are always on the powerplay since they have the refs out there too.
-What a relief... man what a game tonight so far. I can't believe we still have 20 to go. I feel like I've already watched a full 60.
-So...did anyone see how Backes got cut?
-Blatant elbow to the head from Fraser. No call.
-It frustrates me that no one holds the refs accountable. A hit like that, that draws blood gets nothing? Unbelieveable.
-We need another 2 goals this period. Let's play a full 60 minutes!!
-20 more strong minutes and we have a genuine character win. If not ... oh it'll be ugly.
-Does Jim Fox botox? He just looks plastic... Sorry for off topic
i love mike richards so much:
A one-goal game.
-Pietrangelo turned slowly and Brown just blew by him. That dude has been invisible.
And they score.
-thats not good, we need to score again and soon
-Well Shattenkirk ****ed that one up.
-It's nice when every call goes your way. Maybe the Blues will get a pp.
muzzin again. every blues fan is like WHO THE ****?!!!!!!????:
-**** this team. I'm out.
-Well crap...TRADE EVERYONE
-Are you ****ing kidding me?
-OMG, i knew that was coming we quit playing at the start of this period.
-Haha. Here we go.
-You have got to be effing kidding me!
Yeah I'm going to bed, I can't stay awake anyway.
-Send Reaves out...beat up one of their important players.
-C'mon Halak, you have to come up with that one.
-Come on boys. Time to respond.
-Haha did you expect any different? Great collapse again. Honestly, Hitch should be worried about his job because this stems from a lack of preparation.
-The good news is that, since the game is tied now, the refs can start calling things on the Kings. They don't need help to get back into the game anymore, so maybe we'll see even calls.
-I can tell you how this one ends. Someone will try to do too much, and they'll score the game winner on an odd man break.
-Our defenseman are absolutely retarded. When are they going to learn they have no time against this team. Infuriating.
-Amazed at the complete lack of faith.
-Feel like this is an VERY important game now. Please...
-This team won the cup for a reason. They are pretty freakin good.
-Didn't the Kings play last night?
So why do they have more energy than the Blues right now?
saint carter apparently just can't be stopped:
-up 4-1 and now we are losing? ****ing pathetic
-and wow what the ****
-Weak goals...VERY weak...
-Halak hasn't been much better than Elliott this season.
-Only the Blues can make Muzzin who has 2 goals tonight and a helper look like Bobby Orr
-How many of you would have guessed that Halak would be pulled for Elliott???
-This is a character loss right here.
-Four unanswered goals. Carter was wide open. And Elliott's in.
-Alrighty, here's a PP chance. Start with that.
Am i alone in having any faith left tonight?
-Inexcuseable. This is absolutley insane.
-That was a terrible call but I'll take it.
-Wow, finally got a call! Weak call, but after some of the ones against us, it's nice.
-the things you love most, can hurt you the most.
-there goes the PP
-Well that PP was fun and short lived.
-Well...that's a nice way to prevent the Blues from getting a power play. These refs are gawdawful...
-Come on. What are the calls tonight? It's got to be like 6-2 in terms of PPs
-Wow. What an awful awful call. Ellerby didn't even try to hold on to his stick.
-thats not a penalty either that was Petro's fault
-soooo many dumb calls
-we are the Kings' *******
-Aaand three awful calls in a row. Petro knocked him in.
-Backes barely touches a Kings' stick, the guy deliberately drops it, and he's given a slashing penalty. Then, the refs give The Kings a bogus make-up penalty!!!
-That's not a penalty either. These refs are awful, once again.
-Wait a minute? Did I just see Brian Elliott make a timely save?
-That's a HUGE save by Elliott there.
-They are shellshocked. Surreal to watch.
-Just want to point out that there were no calls UNTIL the Blues lost the lead. Not a conspiracy by any means, but sure has been convenient.
-I can't believe I'm saying this but...Elliott looks good.
-Refs aren't why we are losing this game, but they have just been AWFUL. In addition, the Blues are somehow going to win this game.
kopi gives them some breathing room:
-there it is
-It is so hard being a Blues fan...
-....I admit defeat
-This Blues team....just wow. Incredible.
-lol 6-4. Something seriously needs to change with this team
Kings scored 5 yesterday in the third...
-Wow...once again, they didn't show up, at all in the 3rd.
-what a complete meltdown in the 3rd period tonight. I don't know what else to say
-And that's it. The game is off, I can't watch more of this.
-Trade someone. Now.
-It's painful to be a Blues fan tonight
-**** this team. How pathetic can you play? I don't care who is in the "core" anymore, if you can find good value send them out.
-this game is a microcosm of the Blues play this season, started off great and then went to ****
-We need to kick the **** out of the Coyotes, Sharks, and Ducks to salvage this road trip. I can't believe I bought tickets to watch the Blues game in Nashville on April 9th. Hardly seems worth it.
-Doughty just shoves Sobotka all over the place long after the puck is gone...
-Change the team name from the Blues and see what happens.
-Things pretty much fell apart after Halak gave up that back-breakingly terrible goal to tie the game.
-Wow, just wow. No heart from the Blues, even worse performance by the officials, joke of a game IMO. I expect a major shake up
-Prediction: Blues win against Phoenix. They talk about how they're getting back on track. Then they go on a 3 game losing streak. Repeat cycle.
-Uggh, this game is terrible, so hard to watch, they got comfortable, then boom LA shows us what light weight opponents we were in last years playoffs.
-Awesome. We gave the Kings a new thing to be confident about. They can be outplayed for two full periods, just don't give up, outwait the Blues and they'll collapse.
-The most comical thing I've seen in my years watching the Blues. This is one of the most pathetic teams I have ever seen.
-Dominated by something called a Muzzin.
-Its so pathetic and true that I had to laugh.
-I had to laugh in order to not cry
-It's a rare and elusive beast. It only attacks the blues...
