pre-game:

-Ready to get steamrolled. We really need to win this game. I don't want the playoff hunt to be as close as it is. A regulation loss will likely drop us out of the playoffs after tonight. Need a big win.

-I'll be surprised if the Blues win. The Kings own the Blues. Not too long ago, the Blues owned the Kings, but the tables have turned. I hope to see a good effort out of them tonight though, and to not see them give up if something goes wrong.

-Anyway hope the Blues show up tonight in LA, and a unexpected victory would be welcome, but not expected.

-Half of this board is going to implode if the Blues lose...And historically, the Kings have dominated them. This one looks to be ugly.

-somtimes when you least expect it, the Blues us. They have Halak in goal and usually play well on the road. Plus the Kings played Nashville last night.

-I'm not gonna look too much into this game. Going to play a team we can't beat on the road in the midst of an injury filled slump. I'm just hoping they show some heart

-Halak is going to have to lead us to victory tonight.
I full expect LA to power right through our defense yet again.

-Hoping for a tired Kings team and a surprising Blues team...

-Literally zero expectations for this one (I don't think the board will implode if they lose...most have accepted LA is a much better team) but the first period will probably tell the tale if it's going to be a rout or not. LA has been a slow starting team this year and their 10 first period goals is the worst in hockey. And they played last night. But collectively they get incredibly better as a game goes along and have given up TWO third period goals in their last 8 games...and one was an empty netter. Blues better show up early if they don't want to be embarrassed.

-Well, who knows. Maybe this team comes out an shocks us with a great performance, or maybe Bernier/Quick just ***** the bed for no apparent reason. That's why they play the game. Could be one hell of a game or a complete disaster; time will tell.

-Think this is going to be a depressing night.

-IMO the thing to remember is that until the Blues can overcome the Kings, they're relying on all kinds of luck to not meet the Kings in the playoffs at some point. Watching how the Kings play tonight and asking what do we need before we can match that roster – that's the main takeaway tonight.

-Watch them win 5-0 lol.

-I think the negativity is overblown big time.

-By the way (and I realize he spent a lot of time in the Eastern Conference), since he entered the league, Jaroslav Halak has the second best GAA (1.70)and save percentage (.935) vs. the Los Angeles Kings. Halak trails only Mike Smith of the Phoenix Coyotes.
Blues are 4-1-1 in their last six regular season games against the Kings at the Staples Center.
I suppose I can be accused of being a blind homer and that's ok, but I simply don't believe the Blues are incapable of beating the Kings, or anyone else. Is the team flawed? Sure. But it's not as bad as people are making it out to be.

-I like how feisty the Blues are right now, but I feel like we just got MAD screwed.

-The Blues can't let the game get away from them because of their tempers.

-The Kings are targeting the Blues defensemen to great effect so far this game.

-I think that LA has players in the box that are far more replaceable than what the Blues are missing.

-Reaves and Stewart are going to kick some body's ass before it's over

-These penalties are gonna get the best of us.

-Someone is going to get hurt in this game.

-Does anyone get the impression that the Kings aren't going to put anyone of value on the ice when Reaves is out there? They'll let him fight, but it'll be someone they don't care about losing for 5 minutes.

-God, the Kings just try to lay as big of a hit as possible at all times.
Sometimes, I feel like they are the big kid on the playground who picks on all of the smaller kids, but have no intent of taking on the bigger kids.

-This team is a continuous source of kicks to the balls.

-Go reaves. When there's not a fight going on it looks like the Blues r doing pretty good. Making the Kings panic and start taking dives.

-Too bad there is no realignment that would ever make sense for us to be in a division with the Kings because this is fun
-Agreed, games against LA, SJ, and ANA are usually the most physical, intense, penalty filled games of the year. Unfortunately until the invent much faster ways of travel its not possible for us to be in the Pacific, but then agian if we were we would be physically drained by time the POs started every year

-Well, that was a carbon copy of the playoffs. Kings always have a response. That's mentally tough. And what the **** was Oshie doing?

-I'm pretty sure King regretted that fight after Reaves landed the first punch, he spent the rest of the fight trying to end it.

-Love this game so far, very entertaining. Nice to see the Blues haven't completely lost their team toughness. Too much skill and not enough grit lately.

-More action in that period than the average Blues game. that's for sure.

-Good period. Still too many chances for the Kings, however.

-This is the game that can turn the season around. I'd expect Army to use non-roster players not named Jaskin to go after that last piece to the defense.

-I'm hoping the frustration is finally coming out and paying off.
Although, when the King's top line is out there 5-on-5 it looks like they're on the powerplay.
