what they're saying: freakin' FINALLY they win a game edition it's nice to be back. granted it would have been nicer to get one of these threads going sooner, but eh, what are you going to do? i wish the yotes had more fans online (or anywhere, really) so that there was more material to pull from, but this one is still pretty entertaining. OP tried to get some jabs in at the kings, mostly by pointing out they're not too famous in LA. glass houses, phoenix fans. but really, they can throw all the shade they want because we know they're just mad. and their goalie is labarbera.

-Oh man, the only thing I can hope for is that Brad Doty's not gonna get any touchdowns with that ball tomorrow night.
-Raffi Torres is just dying to play in a game like this. I know he would want to take it to this team real ****ing bad.
-I know that if he was able to play in the WCF, the Diver wouldn't pull any of the **** he did in that series.
-Oh Diver #1 would have been scared to do anything on the ice. It's just too bad Torres wasn't able to be out there.
-He would have prefered to have that love tap from Mike Smith over any of the legal hits Torres would give.
-Hell, the Kings can't advance into the next round if they are facing someone like Torres as proven in the vancouver Series a couple of seasons ago.

-Sounds like a good idea but to be fair to the Hawks, Torres wasn't in that game and I think that would have made a world of difference seeing how many Hawks Players decide to target Torres if he so much as looks at Hossa the wrong way.

-There are many, many things to say about the Kings and this new rivalry they've ever so kindly created, but honestly, I just want a god damn win tonight. As lovely as it would be to see Doan skating around with Dustin Brown's head on the end of his stick, just focus on getting back to Coyotes hockey and winning the ****ing game.

-This is a really nice start. Nick Johnson is ripping it up.

-Damn, Morris couldn't get his stick on the puck with that wide open net. Finally had some good play at the end of the PP though.
-Great start. I wish Boedker wouldn't pass up so many open shots. He does have great vision though. He keeps getting better and better.
Really like Johnson so far. MUCH better option than Biz.

-69.4 Contact Outside the Goal Crease - If an attacking*player*initiates any contact with a goalkeeper, other than incidental contact, while the goalkeeper is outside his goal crease, and a goal is scored, the goal will be disallowed.
-Thanks. So that begs the question, what's considered incidental contact?
-At refs discretion. Historically, that rule was used to prevent players from interfering with the goalie when he goes to play the puck. It used to be that if you were out of the crease that far, you were fair game. There's really nothing stopping a goalie from purposefully leaning into or hitting an opposing forward to draw a call.

I have to say the Yotes looked awesome against San Jose , up until 8 min left in the third .
But today they sure look slow and very amateur , from what I have seen this game (2nd period )

-Yeah, the refs didn't help, but the entire team looks like crap right now. If they had managed to get a win, I'd still give all 3 stars to the Kings. Vrbata is the only consistent*player*on this team right now. It's Coyote Ugly. I'm worried the season isn't long enough for Tips to get these guys in good enough shape to outwork the other teams before we fall too far down in the standings.
wrapping up:
-So I guess there in nothing realistically the coyotes can do about their goaltending situations right now. I would give Johnson a chance Monday, couldn't be much worse than barbs.
-How would I go about applying to be a referee? I have 20/20 vision though, so hopefully I'm not overqualified.
-Were Aucoin, Rozsival, Whitney, Pyatt and Langkow that important to the team? Who'd a thunk it?
-I agree that the lack of ownership may be weighing on them.

-I think the combination of bad turnovers, even OEL had a few tonight, and average goal tending, that is costing us. Barbs has not been bad, he has played well for him, still average at best. Quick was much better as expected. I am not sure how long it will take Tip to get the system in tact, avoid dumb turnovers, and get smith back, and Smith playing well. We could be 10 games in before that happens, in a big hole. I sure hope it does not take 10 games.....The funny part is, the offense seems to be generating more chances but L.A. is missing two key D*men*too, so who knows...
-One thing is certain, if this team is going to try to do drop passes, they REALLY need to work on their god damn drop passes. Nobody is ever expecting it, yet they are used just about every time they try to enter the zone.
-We start getting a lot of teams on back to backs in 2 weeks so just stay healthy and back in it we go.
-It's not necessarily that the players are valuable or not valuable to the team, as I would argue that our team is overall, more talented than last year's.
The difference is that when you have a normal schedule, you can go to practice and review the video to see where the correctable issues are. We simply don't have that luxury this year. While the coaches and players go in with a gameplan, they have not had enough time to dissect the video to find strengths/weaknesses of other teams, and certainly have not had enough time to practice what to do in those situations.
-I think we just lack talent. No. I know that we lack talent.
-We have talent. We are not a very talented team. Then again, having talent doesn't mean **** if you doesn't have chemstry. Good thing for us that unlike the LA WheatKings, we don't have nearly as bad of the chemstry issues over the past few seasons.
-We lack offensive talent. Guys like Kopitar, Carter, Richards etc. We have Boedker who is fast. That's about it. Our D is a different story ofcourse.
